Abstract
The invention relates to electrostatic precipitators and can be used to clean flue gases from industrial and solid and liquid particles. It can be used in power generation, cement, metallurgy, coking industries. A dual-zone electrostatic precipitator comprises an ionization chamber. Discharge electrodes of the ionization chamber are made in the form of multitip ribbons installed along the gas flow, of a thickness of 0.5- and length of 250-, spaced from each other and from grounded electrodes by a distance not exceeding . High voltage supplied to the electrodes of the ionization chamber has a constant component and a pulsed component with a microsecond pulse duration. This allows to create the electric field intensity near the discharge electrodes sufficient to cause the formation of the electric wind providing high efficiency of an electrostatic precipitator. In the settling chamber the settling electrodes alternate with the discharge electrodes. This further improves the efficiency of the electrostatic precipitator.
