Abstract

The present invention provides a smoking product, which includes a tobacco medium part, a tobacco filter part and a wrapping paper, wherein the tobacco medium part includes a V-type tobacco medium that mixes flue-cured tobacco, tobacco flakes, expanded tobacco stems (STS) and expanded tobacco shreds (DIET), or an A-type tobacco medium that mixes flue-cured tobacco, oriental tobacco, roasted tobacco (burley tobacco), STS and DIET, and the tobacco filter part includes activated carbon and a plasticizer.

Description

Smoking products using technology to reduce odor-causing substances

The present invention relates to a smoking product which uses a technology for reducing substances causing odor.

The smoke produced by smoking can be divided into the mainstream smoke (main stream smoke) that passes through the tobacco filter and is delivered to the mouth, and the side stream smoke (side stream smoke) that does not pass through the filter and is produced into the air.

The components that cause the smell of smoke in mainstream smoke and sidestream smoke penetrate into the smoker's fingers, producing a unique smell of smoke, which may cause bad breath after smoking or cause discomfort to people other than the smoker due to the smoke.

Therefore, it is necessary to develop a smoking product to reduce the smell of smoke on the fingers when smoking, reduce the bad breath after smoking, and reduce the discomfort felt by non-smokers due to secondhand smoke.

To this end, in order to overcome the above-mentioned problems and/or limitations of the prior art, the object of the present invention is to provide a smoking product, which includes a tobacco medium in which total nitrogen and low-expansion tobacco leaves are blended, and includes a filter mouthpiece using activated carbon with a high specific surface area and a plasticizer.

However, the technical issues to be solved by the present invention are not limited to the above-mentioned issues. Other issues not mentioned will be clearly understood by those with ordinary knowledge in the field to which the present invention belongs through the following description.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, a smoking product including a tobacco medium portion, a tobacco filter portion and a wrapping paper is provided, wherein the tobacco medium portion includes a V-type tobacco medium blending flue-cured tobacco, tobacco flakes, expanded tobacco stems (STS) and expanded tobacco shreds (DIET), or an A-type tobacco medium blending flue-cured tobacco, oriental tobacco, roasted tobacco (burley tobacco), STS and DIET, and the tobacco filter portion includes activated carbon and a plasticizer.

According to one aspect of the present invention, by using a blended tobacco medium mainly composed of low total nitrogen content and high expansion tobacco leaves, the components that cause the smoke odor can be reduced, thereby reducing the smoke odor produced during/after smoking, and can benefit consumers by masking it by adding flavors. In addition, by reducing the nitrogen compounds, which are tobacco-specific odor components contained in mainstream smoke and sidestream smoke, the smoke odor in the mouth, clothes, hands, etc. after smoking can be reduced.

The effects of the present invention are not limited to the above-mentioned effects and should be understood to include all effects that can be inferred from the configuration of the present invention described in the detailed description of the present invention or in the claims.

FIG. 1 is a graph showing a comparison of the level of tobacco odor expression on hands according to the type of activated carbon included in smoking products.

Figure 2 is a graph showing a comparison of the level of tobacco smoke odor expression on hands depending on whether TJNS and/or super activated carbon is applied or not.

Below, the embodiments will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a smoking product including a tobacco medium, a tobacco filter and a wrapping paper is provided, wherein the tobacco medium includes a V-type (Virginia blending) tobacco medium blending flue-cured tobacco, tobacco flakes, expanded tobacco stems (STS) and expanded tobacco shreds (DIET), or an A-type (American blending) tobacco medium blending flue-cured tobacco, oriental tobacco, roasted tobacco (burley tobacco), STS and DIET, and the tobacco filter includes activated carbon and a plasticizer.

The tobacco medium included in the tobacco medium part of the smoking product may include flue-cured tobacco, burley tobacco and oriental tobacco as main raw materials, and may include tobacco flakes, expanded tobacco (DIET) and expanded tobacco stems (STS) as auxiliary materials. In order to reduce the amount of nitrogen compounds causing tobacco odor, the main raw materials and auxiliary raw materials with low total nitrogen and low expansion may be mixed and prepared, preferably, corresponding to V-type tobacco medium in which flue-cured tobacco, tobacco flakes, expanded tobacco stems (STS) and expanded tobacco (DIET) are prepared, and A-type tobacco medium in which flue-cured tobacco, oriental tobacco, roasted tobacco, STS and DIET are prepared. In addition, in the case of flue-cured tobacco, in terms of the above-mentioned effects, it is most effective to blend mainly thin leaves. In the case of flue-cured tobacco (burley tobacco), blending by minimizing it is advantageous in reducing the smell of tobacco. Specifically, for example, it can correspond to a V-type tobacco medium using 40% flue-cured tobacco thin leaves, 10% tobacco flakes, 25% STS I and 20% DIET 9, or an A-type tobacco medium using 28% flue-cured tobacco thin leaves, 4.2% oriental tobacco, 20.6% flue-cured tobacco III, 8% STS I and 29.2% DIET 9.

In addition, the tobacco medium can be flavored with a flavoring liquid substance in addition to being the blended tobacco medium. In this way, not only can the insufficient flavor of tobacco leaves be supplemented and undesirable aromas and flavors be masked, but also a unique flavor can be imparted.

In this case, the fragrance liquid material to be perfumed may include, for example, one or more selected from the group consisting of rosemary, eucalyptus, licorice, sucrose, fructose syrup, iso sweet, cocoa, lavender, cinnamon, cardamom, celery, fenugreek, bittersweet, sandalwood, bergamot, geranium, honey essence, rose oil, vanilla, lemon oil, orange oil, peppermint oil, citrus oil, catechin, grapefruit, kudzu, brandy, jasmine, cocoa butter, menthol, cinnamon, ylang-ylang oil, sage, spearmint, ginger, coriander and coffee, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

In addition, the tobacco filter included in the smoking product may include activated carbon and a plasticizer.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, the smoking product includes the activated carbon, and the nitrogen compounds that cause smoke odor can be adsorbed into the activated carbon to reduce the level of nitrogen compounds present in mainstream smoke, sidestream smoke and hand smoke. As the type of activated carbon, not only general activated carbon but also super activated carbon can be used, and from the perspective of reducing smoke odor-causing substances, it is more preferable to include super activated carbon.

In addition, the general activated carbon described herein may refer to activated carbon having a specific surface area of 800 to 1200 m ² /g, and the super activated carbon may refer to activated carbon having a specific surface area of 1800 to 2000 m ² /g or more.

In addition, the tobacco filter portion may include a filter that is flavored by using a transfer jet nozzle system (TJNS) method (injecting flavors into the filaments during the filter manufacturing process), or may also include a capsule containing a flavor liquid substance as a solvent, wherein the solvent is selected from one or more of the group consisting of medium chain fatty acid triglycerides (MCTG) and propylene glycol (PG). Thus, not only mainstream smoke and sidestream smoke can be effectively reduced, but also nitrogen compounds-semi-volatile organic compounds (semi-VOCs) that affect the expression of smoke on the hands can be reduced.

In this case, when activated carbon, a capsule containing a fragrance liquid substance, and a TJNS filter are used simultaneously, since the components of the fragrance liquid are adsorbed when passing through the activated carbon and its function may be reduced, it is preferable that the filter including the activated carbon is located upstream compared to the capsule and the TJNS filter.

In addition, the capsule included in the filter portion of the tobacco exhibits crushability that can be destroyed when pressure is applied, for example, when crushed by hand, the flavoring liquid in the capsule may wet the filter portion of the smoking product.

The wrapping paper for smoking products prepared according to an embodiment of the present invention can be made of general filter wrapping paper, and preferably, can include a rolling paper (low sideflow rolling paper) added with a filler, wherein the filler is one or more selected from the group consisting of magnesium oxide, titanium oxide, tin oxide, aluminum oxide, zirconium carbonate, calcium carbonate (CaCO ₃ ), Al(OH) ₃ and Mg(OH) _2. When such a filler is added to the rolling paper, sideflow smoke and nitrogen compounds as smoke odor-causing substances can be reduced compared with smoking products made of general rolling paper.

The following describes the structure and effects of the present invention in more detail through embodiments and comparative examples. However, these embodiments are used to describe the present invention in more detail, and the scope of the present invention is not limited to these embodiments.

Implementation example

1. Prepare and evaluate smoking products according to tobacco conditions

The inventors prepared 10 types of smoking products as shown in Table 1 below to compare the expression levels of components that cause smoke flavor according to tobacco conditions (filter type, tar level, filter additive type, cigarette circumference).

(1) Confirm the effect of reducing nitrogen compounds

For the prepared smoking products No. 1, No. 3, No. 7 and No. 8, the effect of reducing semi-volatile organic nitrogen compounds was confirmed, and the results are shown in Table 2 below. In addition, as a result of comparing the above smoking products, it can be confirmed that the smoking product No. 7 containing 3 mg/mm super activated carbon showed the most significant nitrogen compound reduction effect.

(2) Confirmation of nitrogen compound reduction effect (expression level of reducing smoke odor on hands)

For the smoking products No. 1 to No. 10 prepared above, the expression level of the smoke smell on the hands of each smoking product was measured, and the results are shown in Table 3, Figure 1 and Figure 2 below.

From Figure 1 (showing the level of tobacco odor expression on hands according to the type of activated carbon), it can be confirmed that compared with the smoking product No. 1 as the control group, the smoking product No. 6 using general activated carbon has a superior effect in reducing the tobacco odor on hands, and the smoking product No. 7 using super activated carbon has a superior reduction effect than the above-mentioned smoking product No. 6.

In addition, from Figure 2 (showing the expression level of smoke odor on hands depending on whether TJNS and/or super activated carbon are applied), it can be confirmed that compared with the smoking product No. 1 as the control group, the smoking product No. 8 applying TJNS has a superior effect in reducing the smoke odor on hands, and that the smoking product No. 9 applying super activated carbon and TJNS at the same time has a superior reduction effect than the above-mentioned smoking product No. 8 (reducing the components causing the smoke odor by about 80%).

(3) Confirm the nitrogen compound reduction effect (reducing the components that cause odor in sidestream smoke)

In order to confirm the effect of reducing the components causing odor in sidestream smoke by using tobacco shreds for flavoring and low sidestream roll paper, the inventors conducted experiments on the above-prepared smoking products No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5, and the results are shown in Table 4 below.

As shown in Table 4 above, it can be confirmed that compared with No. 1 and No. 2, the smoking product No. 5 using tobacco flavoring and low sidestream rolling paper showed an effect of reducing the components causing the odor in the sidestream smoke (based on pyridine, the reduction effect is about 57%).

2. Preparation and evaluation of tobacco leaf blended smoking products

In order to find out the changes in the reduction of nitrogen compounds as tobacco odor-causing substances according to the blending of tobacco leaf types, rolling paper and filter, the smoking products of Examples 1 to 4 and Comparative Example 1 were prepared with the composition shown in Table 5 below.

Then, the effect of nitrogen compounds on reducing mainstream smoke, sidestream smoke and smoke smell on hands was confirmed from Examples 1 to 4 and Comparative Example 1, and the results are shown in Figure 3 (mainstream smoke), Figure 4 (sidestream smoke) and Figure 5 (smoke smell on hands).

The results show that the smoking product of Example 2 including V-shaped blending, super activated carbon and low sideflow rolling paper reduces nitrogen compounds by more than about 50% (Figure 3) compared with the existing product (Comparative Example 1), and in terms of hand smoke smell and sideflow smoke, it can be confirmed that the smoking products of Examples 1 to 4 show a reduction effect of about 30% to 45% compared with the smoking product of Comparative Example 1 (Figures 4 and 5).

As shown in Table 4 above, it can be confirmed that the tobacco odor of the smoking product including the TJNS filter containing the capsule is suppressed compared to the non-flavored filter.

Through these experimental examples, it can be confirmed that by including specific tobacco leaf blends, specific rolling papers, tobacco flavoring, TJNS and capsules, nitrogen compounds that cause odors in mainstream smoke, sidestream smoke, hand smoke, etc. can be greatly reduced, and combining them together can maximize the effect of reducing tobacco odor.

In summary, the embodiments are described through limited drawings, and a person with ordinary knowledge in the field to which the present invention belongs can make various modifications and variations to the above description. For example, the described technology is performed in a different order from the described method, and/or the described components are combined or combined in a different form from the described method, or replaced or substituted by other components or equivalents to obtain the same effect.

Therefore, other implementations, other embodiments, and equivalents within the scope of the claims all fall within the scope of the patent claims.

Claims (8)

A smoking product, comprising a tobacco medium, a tobacco filter and a wrapping paper, wherein the tobacco medium comprises a V-shaped tobacco medium blending 40% flue-cured tobacco leaves, 10% tobacco flakes, 25% expanded tobacco stems (STS) and 20% expanded tobacco shreds (DIET), or an A-shaped tobacco medium blending 28% flue-cured tobacco, 4.2% oriental tobacco, 20.6% roasted tobacco (burley tobacco), 8% STS and 29.2% DIET, and the tobacco filter comprises activated carbon and a plasticizer. The smoking product according to claim 1, wherein the activated carbon is super activated carbon having a specific surface area of 1800 m ² /g or more. The smoking product according to claim 1, wherein the tobacco medium is a tobacco medium flavored with a flavoring liquid substance. According to claim 1, the tobacco filter portion includes a transfer nozzle system (TJNS) filter in which the flavoring liquid substance is flavored. According to claim 1, the smoking product, wherein the tobacco filter mouthpiece includes a capsule containing a flavoring liquid substance. A smoking product according to any one of claims 3 to 5, wherein the flavor liquid substance includes one or more selected from the group consisting of rosemary, eucalyptus, licorice, sucrose, fructose syrup, isotonic, cocoa, lavender, cinnamon, cardamom, celery, fenugreek, balsam pear, sandalwood, bergamot, geranium, honey essence, rose oil, vanilla, lemon oil, orange oil, peppermint oil, citrus oil, catechins, grapefruit, kudzu, brandy, jasmine, cocoa butter, menthol, cinnamon, ylang-ylang oil, sage, spearmint, ginger, coriander and coffee. According to claim 6, the smoking product, wherein the solvent used to contain the flavoring liquid substance is selected from one or more of the group consisting of medium-chain fatty acid triglycerides and propylene glycol. The smoking product according to claim 1, wherein the packaging paper comprises a rolling paper with a filler added thereto, wherein the filler is one or more selected from the group consisting of magnesium oxide, titanium oxide, calcium oxide, aluminum oxide, zirconium carbonate, calcium carbonate (CaCO ₃ ), Al(OH) ₃ and Mg(OH) ₂ .
