Abstract

A process for the steam cracking of hydrocarbons in a facility comprising at least one steam cracking furnace (1), the facility comprising at least one cracking zone (2) having cracking pipes down stream of which being linked to a transfer line exchanger (TLE) (4) for quick cooling of the effluents from the zone, the process comprising injection, upstream of the transfer line exchanger, of solid erosive particles in the transfer line exchanger for removing at least a portion of coke deposited in the exchanger in the pipeline, and also comprising separation of at least a portion of the solid particles from the transfer line exchanger effluents in a primary gas/solid separation mechanism (5), and recovery and recycling of at least a portion of these solid particles, the process being characterized in : - carrying out a substantially atmospheric step D of intermittently purging the recovered power; - prior to or concurrent to the step D, carrying out a pneumatic transport step T on the powder in a transfer channel (12) by conveying the powder with a noncoking inert transport gas having an atmospheric dew point less than 110℃, the temperature of the transport gas at the supply point being lower than the temperature of the effluents at the outlet of the exchanger (TLE); - after the pneumatic transport step T, carrying out a second separation step on the transport gas and the powder conveyed by the gas; - after the purge step D, the transport step T, and the second separation step, in a essentially nitrogen atmosphere at substantially atmospheric pressure, using at least one sieve (19) to carry out at least one powder sieving, in which the operation pressure does not exceed about 250℃, preferably 100℃, to recover the sieved out powder portion with finer particle sizes; and - pneumatically and under pressure, recycling at least a portion of the sieved out powder portion to the facility.
