Abstract

A system for increasing the color or gray-scale displaying ability includes: 1. one pixel coordinate generator connected with horizontal and verticalretrace signal to generating each pixel coordinate in each frame ofdisplay device; 2. one dithering matrix register connected with the output of pixelcoordinate generator to store one row of dithering matrix element andaccess the dithering matrix element based on each pixel coordinate; 3. one frame counter connected with vertical retrace signal, generatingframe count in the time period of preset frame count value; 4. one circuit for generating the intensity input value corresponding to each pixel of every frame on display device; 5. one circuit connected to the output of dithering matrix register, theoutput of frame counter and the intensity input value to decide theintensity output value of each pixel of display device based on thematrix element of dithering matrix output, the frame counting value offrame counter and the intensity value.
