Abstract
A manufacturing method of active carbon fiber, which comprises of preheating the polyacrylonitrile (PAN) in the air under fixed tension; the preheating temperature is at 150 C ~ 450 C; the preheating time is 10 minutes to 40 hours; then, introduces oxygen gas into the fiber interior to let oxygen content above 4 wt%; next, let the fiber through activation engineering treatment at the presence of carbon dioxide and steam; the activation temperature is at 600 C ~ 1300 C; the activation time is 30 minutes; through the method, the produced PAN active carbon fiber has 3 wt% B.E.T. with surface area of 300 ~ 1200 m2/g.
