Abstract

A dual-interface controller is disclosed, which comprises: a flash memory interface, a SD/MMC interface, a SD/MMC controller module, a USB interface, a USB card reader module, a data bus selector switch, and a interface switch circuit. The SD/MMC controller module is electronically connected to the flash memory interface and the SD/MMC interface, and is used for performing conversion and communication between a memory standard and a SD/MMC standard. The USB card reader module is electronically connected to the USB interface and the SD/MMC interface, and is used for performing conversion and communication between a USB standard and the SD/MMC standard. The data bus selector switch is connected to the USB card reader module, the SD/MMC interface and the SD/MMC controller module, and is used for performing a circuit selection job to determine the SD/MMC controller module to be electronically connected to either the USB card reader module or the SD/MMC interface. The interface switch circuit is electronically connected to the USB card reader module, the SD/MMC controller module and the data bus selector switch, and is used for receiving a signal from the USB card reader module and the SD/MMC controller module, thereby controlling the circuit selection job of the data bus selector switch. The dual-interface controller disclosed in the present invention is a single chip, which could support both a SD/MMC control system and a USB control system. A dual-interface memory card manufactured based on the dual-interface controller of the present invention could replace a card reader, so as to directly connect to a PC or other USB devices.
