Abstract
The present invention discloses a novel preparation of alkali soluble polysaccharide, which is acquired from roots of Panax quinquefolium by alkaline solution followed with further purification. The present invention also discloses a process for producing the preparation of alkali soluble polysaccharides and a medical application of the same. Dregs of root section of Panax quinquefolium resulting from extraction by hot water and/or alcohols are extracted by alkaline solution, and further purified to obtain the preparation of polysaccharides, which are proved to have obvious effect on enhancing immunity. In addition, the preparation of polysaccharides with low dosage shows obvious improvement of the activity of immune cells, and can be used clinically to treat or to prevent diseases related to immunity, such as influenza, AIDS and cancer.
