The overcoat receptacle in for use in manufacturing the exterior electrode fluorescent lamp having the structure provided with electrode outside, and is of the glass containing SiO2 45~60%,B2O3 0~10%, Al2O3 0~10%, MgO 0~10%, CaO 0~10%, SrO 0~9%, BaO 5~25%, ZnO 0~13%, TiO2 0~5%, CeO2 0~3%, ΣRO(=MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO+ZnO)20~40%, ΣR2O(= Li2O+Na2O+K2O)5~9.8% by mass%.
