Abstract
Provided is a formaldehyde scavenger containing ammonium primary phosphate and ammonium secondary phosphate. Preferably, the formaldehyde scavenger contains ammonium primary phosphate and ammonium secondary phosphate at a weight ratio from 70/30 to 10/90 (ammonium primary phosphate/ammonium secondary phosphate). More preferably, the formaldehyde scavenger contains ammonium primary phosphate and ammonium secondary phosphate at a weight ratio from 60/40 to 10/90 (ammonium primary phosphate/ammonium secondary phosphate). A deodorant composition contains 3-50 parts by mass of a sulfite per 100 parts by mass of a composition wherein ammonium primary phosphate and ammonium secondary phosphate are added at the following mass ratio: ammonium primary phosphate : ammonium secondary phosphate = 10-70:90-30.
