Abstract
The present invention relates to a high strength and high toughness alloy with low density and the method of making. The alloy material mainly comprises 15~33 wt% Mn, 6~10 wt% Al, 0.6~1.2 wt% C, 0.1~1.0 wt% Si, and balance of Fe. It has 6.6~6.9 g/cm<3> density, 25~ 70% percentage elongation or 100~ 190 ksi tensile strength, so the alloy material possesses high strength, low density, high ductility, and excellent surface property for the design of golf club head. In addition, the alloy material can reduce the occurrence of corrosion pit and defect generated in the electroplating process of golf club head, and greatly reduce the defect ratio and cost.
