Abstract
A liquid applying and drying method that applies a liquid on a web and drying the liquid during the web is held in contact with a circulating member. The liquid applying and drying method includes: a forward rotating process (S3) of forwardly rotating the circulating member that is held in contact with the web to move the web in the traveling direction; an applying process (S3) of applying a liquid on the web; a drying process (S2) of promoting a drying of the applied liquid; and a reversely rotating process (S5) of reversely rotating the circulating member to move the web in a reverse direction opposite to the traveling direction, in which the forward rotating process, the applying process, and the drying process are repetitively conducted at least once (S4).
