Abstract

A demodulation device for demodulating modulated information recorded in an optical information storage medium as a wobbled groove. The wobbled groove has a plurality of first wobbles wobbling with a first amplitude A1 and second wobbles wobbling with a second amplitude A2. The first amplitude A1 and the second amplitude A2 satisfy the relationship of 0≤A1≤50%A2. The demodulation device includes a carrier-wave-generation circuit, a signal-process circuit and a detection circuit. The carrier-wave-generation circuit generates a carrier wave signal from a wobbling signal obtained from the wobbled groove. The signal-process circuit receives the wobbling signal and the carrier wave signal and generates a product signal. The detection circuit detects low-frequency components of the product signal to obtain the modulated information.
