Abstract

This invention regards a multi-stage illumination-control apparatus of a gas discharge lamp and its control method. It uses the power switch to control at least one gas discharge lamp. After turning on the power switch and a steady illumination of a gas discharge lamp derived, the power switch is pressed rapidly multiple times for the illumination control. Based on the number of times the power switch being pressed and the timing sequence, logic control circuit outputs various logic control signals. A frequency modulation circuit is activated by these various logic control signals for various adjustments of power source parameters. Based on the power source parameter adjusted, a frequency converting circuit tunes the driving frequency of the power source to result various illumination levels of the gas discharge lamp.
