Abstract

There is provided a technique of enhancing a power for absorbing light of a visible light range and sufficiently exerting high photocatalytic action even under the environment with less ultra-violet rays. More specifically, there is provided a photocatalyst having either titanium oxide containing chemical nitrogen atom or titanium oxide containing sulfur atom and iron (III) compound, in which the iron (III) compound is kept on the surface of the photocatalyst, as well as photocatalytic compositions, interior building materials, paints, synthetic resin molds and textiles using the phtocatalyst, a method of using the photocatalyst and a method of decomposing harmful substances.
