Abstract

This invention provides a silicone elastomer composite powder which exhibits excel lent fluidity and dispersibility. This invention also provides a method for making a silicone elastomer composite powder, by the process of composite-pulverizing a mixture of silicone elastomer powder and a clay mineral by a high speed rotary dispersing machine at a peripheral speed of 40m/sec or above, and a Froude number of 70 or above, to obtain a silicone elastomer powder having a surface coating of clay mineral, the silicone elastomer composite powder having a specific volume of 2.50 ml/g or less, an oil absorption of 180g/100g or less. This invention further provides a cosmetic material which exhibits excellent feeling of use and an anti-shock characteristic without a sticky feeling of the above said silicone elastomer composite powder.
