Abstract

The present invention relates to an optical alignment polarizing light illumination device. That is, in the polarizing light illumination device for illuminating the optical alignment polarizing film, it is able to reduce the fluctuation of the polarizing axis of the light illuminating surface. Light including ultraviolet emitted by a lamp 1 is gathered by a light gathering lens 2, and injected to a polarizing device 6 via a first planar mirror 3 and an input lens 5. Polarizing light emitted from the polarizing device 6 is injected into an integrator lens 4 constituted by a light injecting side lens group 41 and a light emitting side lens group 42. The light injecting side lens group 41 is formed by first and second cylinder lenses/arrays 41a, 41b configured with plural cylinder lenses. The cylinder lenses of the first and second cylinder lenses/arrays 41a, 41b are mutually perpendicular. Polarizing light emitted from the integrator lens 4 illuminates on a work-piece W placed on a work stage WS via a light gate 7, a second planar mirror 8 and a collimating lens 9.
