Description

The proposed safety device is designed for a machine with a band saw and is aimed at preventing occupational accidents, such as: workers' injuries when sawing various materials and injuring them when the saw blade is broken.

By parallel m, s, attached to the headstock of a sawing machine, the protective device d (fig. 1), consisting of boxes of type (fig. 3), falls down under the force of its gravity. For the stability of the protective device, the parallels along the length of the sides have cuts for screws p, p, which (when assembled) are screwed into the body of the shield t; the ends of the screws p, p together with the box t can slide along the parallel m up and down. Thus, only the box w has a direct connection with the parallels (Fig. 5). The box n, in turn, can slide along the box t down and up, maintaining stability by means of screws and, and, screwed (at assembly) into the box body t at points a, about the slot on the sides of the box n (Fig. 3) .

Both iron boxes wi and u are U-shaped with parallel sides directed to the saw, and the box t protrudes from the teeth of the saw blade (Fig. 5). The boxes WI and p have longitudinal slots A for observing the progress of the saw and the direction of the cutting line (Fig. 2). In a box t, the length of the sides of the same size, in a box n, the parallel sides are half as long, which makes it possible for the box to fall, respectively, below the box t;

the base of the box corresponds to the length of the box m, having half a rod.

Box g is provided with an E welded bottom welded to the bottom to support the machine table or the product propelled under it. The bottom E has a slot for the passage of the saw blade, which is equal in length to the projections of the guard of the box by the teeth of the saw blade. The core of the box n terminates in an oval surface, which serves as a continuation of the surface of a convex headboard & IS boxes W, I pursue the same goal with it (Fig. 3).

At the bottom, the core of the box n has two openings p, p through which the spring loaded rods r, r pass, on one side connected to the product pushing t, and attached to the handle o for serving, on the other. The purpose of the pusher is to enable the worker to send the product to the end of the sawing at a critical moment. The purpose of the box n is to protect the hands of the worker at the end of the sawing.

The use of the device consists in that the box with the hand of a worker or by pushing the product being sawn under the handle o rises from the table upwards to the required distance, and with it the box t rises and then the cutting line is set through the hole in the guards with its convex bottom, -E, and the box with the oval surface of the rod slides over the product, protecting the worker from the saw blade from the top to the product; when the product passes the oval surface of the core of the box n, the latter without a fulcrum.
