Description

The invention relates to the field of paint industry, in particular to compositions for finishing wood products.

A known composition for finishing wood products containing colloxylin, oxyterpene resin, plasticizers and diluents.

However, this composition, when applied to the surface, forms coatings with low frost resistance, insufficient elasticity, it is observed to run off from vertical surfaces, the formation of bubbles and incrustations.

When applying the composition to obtain coatings with a thickness of more than 100 microns on products of lattice furniture, multi-layer coating (up to five layers) is necessary. This leads to a large consumption of varnish, reduces the performance of the painting work, which increases the cost of finishing.

In order to impart thixotropic properties to the composition, a composition is proposed in which polyvinyl butyral is introduced in the following ratio of components, wt. %

Kolloksilin used in this composition, has a viscosity of 1/4 and 1/2 s according to VZ-4, the content of alcohol-alcohol 23–35%. The oxiterpene resin is a waste product from the forestry industry and is a product of the isomerization and oxidation of gum devalued turpentine.

JB phosphate and phthalate plasticizers, castor oil or casterol are used as plasticizers. Organic and inorganic pigments can be added to the formulation. The volatile portion of the composition is a mixture of organic solvents of the following composition, wt. %:

Example 1. In a flask, 19.65 g of a mixture of solvents of the indicated composition, 67.5 g of an 8% aqueous solution of polyvinyl butyral in the volatile part and 35 g of alcohol soluble colloxylin (the alcohol liquor content is 23%) are primed.

The mixture is stirred until a homogeneous solution is obtained, after which 7.6 g of oxy tercene resin in an oxyterpene solvent (dry matter content 71%), 10.8 g of mixed phosphate plasticizers and 9.45 g of casterol are introduced.

Stirring is carried out until a homogeneous solution is obtained.

Example 2. A flask was charged with 42.35 g of a mixture of solvents, 56.25 g of an 8% solution of polyvinyl butyral in a mixture of solvents and 29.2 g of alcohol soluble colloxylin.

The mixture is stirred until a homogeneous solution is obtained, followed by 6.33 g of a solution of oxyterpene resin (dry residue 71%), 10.8 g of a phosphate plasticizer, for example, tricresyl phosphate and 7.87 casterol. Stirring is carried out until a homogeneous solution is obtained.

Example 3. A flask was charged with 5.09 g of a mixture of solvents (acetone, ethyl acetate, butyl, ethyl alcohol, toluene), 75 g of an 8% aqueous solution of polyvinyl butyral in a mixture of solvents and 38.96 g of soluble colloxylin. The mixture is stirred until a homogeneous solution is obtained. Then 8.45 g are added.
