Abstract
FIELD: scrubbing processes used in chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: exhaust gases containing nitrogen oxides are subjected to interaction with ammonia in catalyst layer placed between layers of inert material at periodical change of motion direction of gas being purified and regeneration of heat of scrubbed gas in layer of inert material. Additional layer of inert material is placed between layers of catalyst and ammonia water is fed to said additional layer. Gas is passed for time period of contact with additional layer of inert material equal to 0.1-1.5 s. Service life period of catalyst is increased by 10-50%.
