SUBSTANCE: 4-oxo-1.4-dihydropyrimidine hydrochlorides of the general formula:or. Compound 1: mol. weight 422.5, mp 335-377 C (from acetonitrill), LD= 2670 mg/kg. Compound II: mol. weight 320.5, mp 268-270 C, LD= 1420 mg/kg. Reagent 1: N-acetyl-2-phenylacetoacetamide. Reagent 2: 4-aminoantipyrine (for compound 1) or 2-aminotysol (for compound II). The process is carried out in icy acetic acid at the boiling point and the resultant product is converted into hydrochloride. The yield of compound 1 61% and the yield of compound II 53%.
