Description

The proposed device is intended for use in depots, workshops and, in general, wherever locomotives have to be moved for repair, and is intended to reduce the tedious work of locomotive movement using crowbars and, therefore, saving time and labor.

The device consists of the following main parts: the box L, the tongue M, the lever Y and the springs with eyelets for moving the device. The device is placed on the rail under the rear or front wheel of a locomotive. The tongue M is lowered down, rotated near bolt X by means of the spring G, and is set depending on whether the engine must be moved forward or backward. The lever Y with a fulcrum on the roller J passing through the eye of the housing is supported by the workers. The lugs of the spring 5 are hooked with a pull L / from one side of the ends of the bolt X, on which the tongue rotates, and on the other, they are attached by a lever L to the locomotive frame for a trunnion suspension trunnion, under a string stitch, etc.

When the lever is pressed down, the tongue rises up and rotates the wheel of the locomotive, and the body of the device remains stationary. When the lever is lifted, the working end of the tongue is lowered down, the device is released and is pushed forward to its original position relative to the wheel by spring. The role of the workers is reduced only to swinging the lever, each swing giving the movement of a locomotive.

The box of instrument A is made of a piece of forged axial steel by machining on planing and milling machines. The um tongue is also forged. At the working end of the tongue a steel plate is attached, made from a flat file. The point of support for the language is not the bolt A, but the liner G. Its bottom surface is notched and therefore, when the lever is pressed, it does not allow the entire device to slide backwards. In order to lift the lever, the entire device could move freely forward, an oval hole was made in the tongue through which the bolt X passes. Thanks to this hole, the spring T lifts the tongue up and releases the device. Because

the lever Y and the tongue G when working slide along each other, then the pressure from one another is transmitted by means of a ball Q, rolling in the grooves made both in the lever and in the tongue; grooves are cemented. In order to prevent the ball from falling out, it is held on top of a sliding plate P. The tongue is assembled with the ball and the plate is inserted into the device through the grooves made in the housing. To hold the device on the rail, a pawl B. is turned into the case. It pivots on the shaft C. The E lock, which consists of a roller and a handle D, prevents it from turning during operation.
