Abstract

FIELD: chemistry; manufacture of laminate graphite-based compounds. SUBSTANCE: this method prescribes suspending graphite particles of 0.5 to 1.0 mm in size in 85 to 100-percent nitric acid, allowing the whole to stand for 16 h, filtering off resultant product, washing it out in ice-cold acetic acid. Final steps are treating 1 g graphite with 5 to 15 cu. cm water and then filtering off and drying desired product. EFFECT: higher volumetric coefficient of swelling, lower swelling initiation temperature, longer service time, and healthy working conditions. 2 cl, 5 tbl
