Abstract

FIELD: mining, nonferrous metallurgy, chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: initial suspension, after having been brought in contact with a flocculent, is fed simultaneously both into center and, circularly, into middle part of settling zone to be subjected to flocculation separation in fluidized bed and in counter-flows. Drain is after-clarified with a coagulant, and thickened product is compressed. Apparatus for separating suspensions has a cylindrical body, horizontal feeding pipe connected with central loading arrangement. Feeding pipe divides the body into central and peripheral zones. There is also cylindrical separating wall with overflow control in its upper portion and a circular opening in lower portion, peripheral loading arrangement placed in said opening having the form of inverted circular tray, and deflecting plate leaving a clearance between itself and peripheral loading arrangement. Further, apparatus has two-section deaeration chamber with gate which is installed in the second downstream section and controls suspension feeding through a feeding pipeline into central loading arrangement. Removal of sediment is conducted through discharge funnel by means of single- coil worm. EFFECT: increased thickening and purification degree of processed suspensions with simultaneous increase in apparatus capacity. 2 cl, 3 dwg
