Abstract
FIELD: steel melting, more specifically, oxygen-converter process used in steel melting from solid iron charge in oxygen converters. SUBSTANCE: oxygen is supplied under pulsing conditions: in scrap heating, with pulsation frequency of 50-100 Hz, and after beginning of charge melting, with pulsation frequency of 600-1000 Hz. In the course of entire process, hydrocarbon fuel is supplied by pulsation frequency of 200-400 Hz. The device for pulsating supply of reagents has coaxial pipes forming channel for supply of oxygen and hydrocarbon fuel. End of channel for oxygen supply is provided with nozzle having diffuser-contraction cylindrical and expanding conical parts. Ratios of lengths of the parts are 0.6:0.4:1.7:2.0. Their diameter amounts to 0.6: 1.0:1.9 of diameter of supplying line. Fuel supply channel has toroidal connector forming practical cross-section area of channel equalling 0.7 cross-section area of gas supplying line. Connector is installed at a distance of 27-30 calibers from channel cut. Also channel in fuel supply channel is circular diaphragm with area equalling 0.8 area of cross-section of gas-supplying line. Circular diaphragm is installed at a distance of 20-25 calibers from nozzle end. EFFECT: higher efficiency of scrap heating, higher yield of liquid steel and increased output of melting unit due to acceleration of mass transfer between solid carbon-containing fuel and oxygen flow. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 3 tbl
