Description

At present, the enrichment of finely divided, poor, finely disseminated highly magnetic ores is carried out on electromagnetic separators by subjecting the ore to constant and non-transitory magnetic fields.

The proposed method allows to increase the extraction of iron from the enriched ore to the concentrate. This is achieved in that alternating current is supplied to the winding of electromagnets intermittently.

The drawing shows a diagram of an apparatus for carrying out the proposed method.

Устройство состоит из вибрационного питател  /, магнитной системы 2 переменного тока, барабанного прерывател  и магнитной системы 3 посто нного тока (барабанного сепаратора).The device consists of a vibrating feeder /, an alternating current magnetic system 2, a drum chopper, and a direct current magnetic system 3 (drum separator).

7.The material to be subjected to senation is fed to the feeder from bunker 4. The feeder is suspended on springs 5 and is driven by an electromagnetic vibrator 6. The angle of inclination of the magnetic system 2, i.e. the speed of movement of the ore through the feeder can be adjusted by a screw 7.

Alternating current of industrial frequency is inserted into the magnetic system 2 intermittently, in pulses, which contributes to the rearrangement of the magnetic part of the material and the location of the magnetic grains over the non-magnetic layer. This phenomenon occurs due to the fact that the magnetic particles, connected by chains along the lines of force, become perpendicular to the surface of the feeder and, if the current is intermittently applied, fall on the non-magnetic material. As a consequence, delamination of material occurs on the feeder. At the same time, both layers of material are moving forward. The vibration of the feeder 1 contributes to the separation of magnetic grains and facilitates the possibility of their emergence to the surface under the influence of magnetic forces.
