EP 0 058 411 Al, on the other hand, describes a device for supporting the patient's legs in a gynecological examination chair, the device comprising a knee support and a foot support section, each of which is mounted separately on relatively complex multiparticulate supports, each of which attached to itself under the seat of the machine with the possibility of being moved to the appropriate position in each case. Accordingly, there is then one knee support section on each side of the seat portion with its bracket and movement assembly as well as one foot support section with its support and movement assembly. This design, on the one hand, significantly complicates the mere fabrication and at the same time introduces new obstacles and risk elements into the physician's workplace, allowing at the most comfortable placement of the patient in a semi-reclining position, but not at all with the legs extended. In such a case, the patient must be transferred to another table for ultrasound examination, which is time consuming.

According to the invention there is provided a chair for gynecological or urological examinations, comprising

- for a stable support on the base and optionally for mounting on the base a pedestal whose longitudinal axis defines the longitudinal direction of the chair;

- at a distance from the base and above said base there is a seating portion, which is optionally padded and adapted to move with respect to said base at least in the vertical direction, and optionally also in the horizontal direction and / or tilting about the horizontal axis transversely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the chair ;

- also, at a distance from the base, in the area above said base, a backrest disposed and connected to said seat part, which is movable together with the seat part at least vertically, and optionally in a different direction, and swivels from at least approximately horizontal to the seat part at least approximately vertical, and
