Abstract

Hydraulic binder contains a finely ground latent hydraulic blast furnace slag, a sulfate initiator and activating additives. The slag contains 34-40% SiO2, 34-37% CaO, more than 9% Al2O3 and 0.88-0.98 (CaO + MgO)/(Al2O3 + SiO2) with a vitreous content of 93%. Preferred Features: The slag contains at least 13% Al2O3 and is formed by a mixture of at least two blast furnace slags. The slag has a fineness of 5000-6500 cm<2>/g Blaine. The binder further contains 0.5-3% hydrated lime or calcined lime, preferably up to 3% alkali sulfates and/or carbonates, especially 0.5-3% calcium salt of a carboxyl acid, especially calcium acetate and/or calcium formate.
