Abstract

APPARATUS AND METHOD OF TRACKING WORK PRODUCTIVITY A personalized activity monitoring unit allows measuring and evaluation a worker's productivity. With a specific exemplary application in a welding process, the invention provides for an activity sensor to be connected to a welding machine transformer to detect real arc time associated with a specific weld set employed by the worker. The activity sensor unit can be connected to different weld sets during the course of a work day. The data generated by the activity sensor is stored in an individual data storage device and then uploaded into a central processing unit for gauging individual welder's productivity in manually operated welding processes, and ultimately provide an additional element in appraisal and remuneration of the welders on a large scale.
