Water Treatment By Electricity Or Magnetism
(AREA)
Abstract
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TREATING EFFLUENTS Existing wastewater treatment techniques include using a variety of filters, performing chemical dosing and various membrane systems. However, many of these wastewater treatment techniques are pollutant specific or expensive. Therefore, there is a need for a system and method for treating wastewater efficiently, effectively, as well as to address the deficiencies of existing wastewater treatment techniques. The present invention provides such a system and method for treating effluents. The effluent treatment system of the present invention comprises a reactor and a micro-filtration unit. The reactor, which incorporates electro-chemical processes, is for treating effluent by at least one of electro-coagulation and electro-flocculation for obtaining treated effluent and sludge while the micro-filtration unit is for micro-filtering the treated effluent for obtaining micro-filtered effluent with low suspended solids.
