Abstract

The grate bars are fixed to a rotatable horizontal cylinder, allowing the grate angle to be varied, and a moving scraper above the grate is used to keep the grate clear from blockages. - Solid biofuel (4) is burnt on a grate which is mounted on a horizontal cylinder (9), and the position of this cylinder can be altered by means of adjustment screws (12) in order to the change the angle of the grate bars (7) fixed to the top of the cylinder. A scraper (6) travelling backwards and forwards above the grate is used to dislodge ash or burnt fuel stuck in the grate.
