Abstract

The machine is for multiple machining of elongated workpieces (6) at a number of different points (7-12) along the workpiece length and at selected positions around it. It can carry out a number of similar or dissimilar work operations such as drilling, threading, grinding, milling, track milling, milling away of specific material parts. It has one or more machining units (2-5) fitted in such a way that during the process of the machining they can be displaced in two (X-Z or Y-Z) or pref. in three different directions (X-Y-Z), partic. universally in directions which can be right-angles to one another. The machining unit(s) (2-5) is/are fitted on a rotatable holder (1) which has a central cavity between them. The machine incorporates a component for holding firmly a workpiece in a specific position between the machining units and so that it extends coaxially with the holder rotation axis and through the central cavity.
