Abstract

A dental instrument, usually referred to as a curette, for removing dental plaque and other deposits on the teeth by scraping, or a tool section (2) for such instrument, consisting of an outer, edged section (2a), an intermediate section (2b) and a shaft (1) or an end (2c) designed for mounting in a curette shaft, characterised in that the intermediate section (2b) is provided with at least one, or preferably two reference surfaces to enable the tool section to be aligned correctly in a fixture, usually in a device for grinding the edges.
