Abstract

In a seat holder for an office chair or the like, comprising a seat plate which supports the seat cushion and which, in the region around its front end, is rotatably connected to a stand body, holder devices on the stand body for fastening of a chair column, a backrest and an angled backrest holder connected to the backrest, an essentially horizontal-running lower portion of the backrest holder being rotatably connected to the stand body, and a gas spring, which is connected to the stand body on the one hand and the backrest holder on the other hand and resets the backrest holder, the arrangement is constructed, in order to achieve a simple, stable construction comprising few parts, such that the backrest holder 4 is connected to the stand body 1 by a slide shoe 18 forming a pivot bearing 23, which slide shoe is displaceable in sliding manner along a specific portion of track in a cam recess 17 on the stand body 1, the seat plate 2 resting in sliding manner on the horizontal portion 6 of the backrest holder 4. The seat plate 2 advantageously consists of an essentially non- perforated metal plate in one piece, reinforced by flanged protuberances, and the stand body l consists essentially of a single injection-moulded part. <IMAGE>
