Abstract

The washer jet has a piston structure inside a cylindrical housing recessed under the headlamp mounting. Water pressure extends the jet into the operating position. The piston has a central bore (10) with a non-return valve (37) at the bottom. This closes off the washer fluid duct when the jets are not used. The non-return valve spring has a stronger closing force than the return spring for the piston extension. The non-return valve is mounted inside a small cylindrical housing pressed into the bottom of the piston. The two springs are coaxial and thr piston and valve operate along the same axis. ADVANTAGE - Fail-safe operation; non-leaking washer jet; simple construction.
