Abstract
The demulsification is improved and the residues of oil in water which has contained emulsified oil are reduced by the admixture of 0.005 to 5.0 per cent by weight of a soluble orthophosphate, calculated on the basis of a supplied quantity of water. The admixture can be realized in the form of phosphoric acid and a suitable base or orthophosphate or salt mixture in solid or dissolved form.
