Abstract

A method for treating the surface of wood with the intention of extending its useful life. The invention is characterized in that knots are taken from the same type of wood as or from a different type of wood to the wood from which the wooden product (3) to be treated is made. These knots are ground down to a powder form of predetermined grain size, and the knot powder (17) is then applied to the surface of the wooden product concerned.
