Abstract

The invention relates to a method of improving the accessibility of a PFBC plant having a compressor (16) for pressurizing the pressure vessel of the PFBC plant (10), wherein in order to increase the power of the PFBC plant from a low value to a high value the pressure in the pressure vessel (10) is increased by switching over an expansion turbine (17) connected directly mechanically to the compressor (16), to operation as a supercharger for increasing the mass flow of air from the compressor. <IMAGE>
