Abstract

A joint between two pipes comprising a socket end 20 on one pipe, a narrow end 22 on the other pipe, which is introduced into the socket end, and a sealing ring arranged between the inner surface of the socket end, in a groove 26 therein, and the outer surface of the narrow end. To prevent the narrow end being pulled out of the socket end, the sealing ring is positively fastened to the outer surface of the narrow end by engagement between two mutually opposite surfaces 14; 28, one of which is arranged on the reinforcement part of the sealing ring and the other of which is arranged on the narrow end. <IMAGE>
