Abstract

Apparatus for mixing and dispensing a liquid mixture for agricultural purposes and comprising a base liquid, e.g. liquid fertilizer, and one or more additives, e.g. weed killer(s). The apparatus has a circulation loop formed by a system of pipes and include, in sequence, a junction point (7) which is intended for connection to a base liquid outlet pipe (3) and which is located in a pipe section (8); a pipe section (9) to which one or more connecting pipes (24, 26, 27) extending from additive containers (23, 25) are sequentially connected; a pump suction line (10); a pump (12); a pressure pipe (11) extending from the pump to a branch device (13) provided with an outlet for leading liquid mixture to an outfeed pipe (16) for the purpose of spraying mixture onto the ground, and further provided with a further outlet for leading mixture through a return line (14) back to the junction point (7) of the outlet pipe (3), so as to form a closed loop. The branch device (13) can be adjusted in a manner to enable the flow of liquid to the outfeed pipe (16) to be varied between the whole of the flow from the pump (12) and zero flow, i.e. total shut down.
