Abstract

An electromagnetic pump comprising an open magnetic circuit (4) between the poles of which are placed a straight pipe (2) for conveying a current-conducting medium (3) provided with an inlet opening (10) the cross-section area of which is equal to or bigger than that of the pipe (2), and an electrode (5) connected to the pipe (2) and intended for current supply to the current-conducting medium (3), an inlet opening (10) being provided for in front of that electrode so as to ensure the electric current in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the pipe (2).
