Abstract

A package is described which is made of a backing material, such as cardboard, coated with a thermoplastic for liquids and has a tube with a bottom and lid which has a pouring spout in whose sealing region, besides sealing areas with strong adhesive force, such sealing areas are arranged with low adhesive force so that they can be peeled apart. In order that means for decreasing the sealing properties are not required to be applied to particular regions in the lid, and to simplify the tool, provision is made according to the invention for the sealing area (40') with low adhesive force to be formed by a pattern of elevated surfaces (6) which alternate with adjacent lower-lying areas (5). In the device, an embossing roller with a back pressure roller is provided, between which rollers a line of successively arranged sealing areas situated on the packaging web can be passed in the running direction of the latter. <IMAGE>
