Abstract

In a process for producing a fibre suspension, in particular from waste paper, a soaking drum is mounted to tilt on a frame, in order to release a variable quantity of fibre suspension from the drum by means of the adjustable angle of inclination of the drum. The support frame in this case is designed so that the drum can be tilted downwards at its end discharging the suspension. The fibre suspension taken off from the drum at a relatively high consistency then passes onto a transport belt whose capacity is designed for the maximum fibre quantity to be taken off. A constant speed of the conveyor belt is sufficient, but it would also be possible to provide a variable speed, in order to adjust it to the fibre quantity to be taken off. The drum is also mounted via support rollers directly on an upper frame, on which the drive means for rotating the drum are provided so that further rotary driving of the drum is possible even during the swivelling and after the swivelling motion of the drum.
