Abstract

Coating for sheet, fabric etc. with hardness varying between soft and hard, comprises a closed cell material which is perforated. - The material is made from a mixt. of polyethylene granules with small quantities of powdered additives which act as blowing agents. The mixt. is fed into the first stage of a two stage extruder and heated to about 100 deg. C. The melt enters the last stage where the temp. is reduced to 100-150 deg. C and extruded through an annular die. A porous tube is produced which is cooled with air and cut up along its length.
