Abstract

A stump-containing shell for an artificial limb which is mainly intended for use as a temporary stump-containing shell for new amputees has overlapping wall parts (1 and 2) for adjustment of the internal diameter of the stump-containing shell. The stump-containing shell is cut from a single vacuum-formed shell blank from which material has been removed on the opposite sides, in order to form wall parts which are connected to each other via an integral, flexible joint part (3) near the base part (4) of the shell. The integral structure of the stump-containing shell has advantages over the known adjustable multi-piece stump-containing shells with regard to production time and amount of material required. <IMAGE>
