Abstract
The invention relates to an electrically heated vehicle seat which, in addition to a conventional electrical heating device, is also provided with an additional electrical heating element (119) which is designed to heat up strongly a small part of the seat directly after being switched on. In order to prevent damage as a result of overheating, a circuit (26, 36, 42) is designed to switch off the feed current of the element (11) after a time which varies inversely with respect to the ambient temperature. In addition, a circuit (24) is arranged which prevents current being fed to the heating element (11) at all when the ambient temperature exceeds a specific value. <IMAGE>
