Abstract

The particle surface is coated with a water-insoluble liquid adhesive. The surface has a larger affinity to the adhesive than to any water or other liquids present. Immediately before the agglomeration process, the material is mixed with at least one other adhesive that is a solid. This and the first adhesive combine to bind the particles. Used for making aggregates from fine particles esp. coal powder. (Provisional Basic previously advised in Week 83-37)
