Abstract
The invention relates to an air aspiration system for an operating table 1 used in an operating theatre, with a supply of fresh ventilating air and a return air system. The operating zone of the patient lying on the operating table is screened off from the anaesthetic supply zone at the patient's head 2 with the aid of an anaesthetic frame 8 that is fitted with a cloth and is arranged in a direction normal to the table and the patient. The following parts are arranged above the table and the patient on the operating side of the anaesthetic frame 8: a first air suction device 9 through whose front 10 that faces the operating zone and is fitted with an opening, used air is sucked in from the operating zone into the device, and this air is removed from this device via a lead 13 and passed into the used-air system. The front 10 of the device 9 is parallel to the vertical plane in which the anaesthetic frame 8 is situated. The following parts are arranged on the anaesthetic supply side of the anaesthetic frame 8: two air suction devices 16 of a second type, which are placed on opposite sides of the longitudinal axis of the operating table 1, and have [lacuna] at the suction sides 17, which face this longitudinal axis and form an angle with the vertical plane of the frame 8. The suction sides between them define an aspiration zone for the removal of air mixed with the anaesthetic from the anaesthetic supply zone at the anaesthetic mask 6, which is placed over the patient's mouth and nose. The two air aspiration devices 16 of the second kind are connected, via the lengths of tubing 19, to the used-air system in order to discharge into this system the air contaminated with the anaesthetic that is sucked in by the device 16 via the perforation holes at the suction sides 17 of the said device. <IMAGE>
