Abstract

A transformer is provided with a tank 2 filled with insulating fluid, into which tank 2 extends a built-in container 1 for receiving a tap- changing switch for the transformer. The container comprises a cylinder 1 to which a base 5, a cover 4 and a connecting piece 21 are sealed by pairs of seals 9 and 11, 17 and 20, 22 and 24, respectively. The rings 9, 11, 20 and 24 are disposed in grooves 8, 10, 19 and 23 respectively. At maintenance when the cover is removed the sealing rings 11, 20 and 24 can be inspected or replaced, whilst the sealing is maintained by the second seals 9, 17 and 22, thus avoiding the need for draining the liquid. <IMAGE>
