Abstract
1423252 Electrolytic cell PENNWALT CORP 7 May 1973 [18 July 1972] 16880/75 Divided out of 1423251 Heading C7B The subject-matter of this Specification is contained in Specification 1423251 but the claims are concerned with an electrolytic cell comprising an electrically conductive tank; solid cathode means in the tank and electrically coupled thereto; an electrically conductive headboard constituting a lid for the tank; means for electrically insulating the headboard from the tank; anode means suspended from the headboard in adjacently spaced disposition with the cathode means; means for pumping an electrolyte through the tank so that the cell is flooded; an anode bus of plate material; and a cathode bus of strip material, the anode and cathode buses being in face-to-face contact respectively with the exterior of the headboard and the exterior of the tank so that, in use of the cell, they can be cooled by the electrolyte being pumped through the cell.
