Abstract

1,177,688. Electrostatic pinning board for originals. SIMCO CO. Inc. 11 April, 1967 [24 May, 1966], No. 16560/67. Heading H1P. [Also in Division G2] An electrostatically pinning copyboard for holding conductive and non-conductive originals comprises a dielectric panel C of polyethylene tere-phthalate having a first conductive grid 20 on one side thereof and a second conductive grid 30 on the opposite side thereof. A dielectric panel 14 connects the first conductive grid to a base-plate 12, e.g. a plate made of wood or pressed fibre-board wood composition and a means for connecting a D.C. voltage of 5000-15,000 volts across said conductive members is provided e.g. flat head screw 24 and terminal 26 connected to generator G. A shrink film 42 of polyvinyl fluoride covers grid 30 which film has a cover sheet 48 thereon, e.g. a fibreglass calendered sheet impregnated with silicone rubber.
